Interface well with the production facility while conducting product trials and product issues.  Interface with purchasing for costing, new, alternative and/or replacement ingredients. Assist Procurement finding alternatives to discontinued or unavailable ingredients, resolve issues with ingredient specification and address ingredient functionality problems.  Confers with vendors when necessary to complete a project. Ensures all ingredients used in production are Kosher approved by Circle U Council. Prepares all necessary samples. Identify opportunities to drive business growth via new and improved technologies. Keeps abreast of developments within the food and consumer packaged goods industry through reading, seminars, etc. Responsible for developing accurate formal specifications, process routings (routes and structures) and raw material, in-process and finished product specifications. Reporting to the Manager of Skin Care Product Development, R & D, this person will support the design and monitoring of clinical protocols to investigate the efficacy of new or improved skin care and color cosmetics. Specifically, this individual will work with both internal formulation staff and third party testing labs to develop clinical testing protocols, monitor tests in progress, analyze results and report outcomes. This individual will provide interpretation of clinical results and develop claims substantiation reports relating to targeted performance measures and prepare relevant product support materials.  Additional responsibilities include auditing and evaluating third party testing laboratories; the development and implementation of standard operating procedures to ensure consistent and robust data collection and interpretation techniques; identification and implementation of opportunities to foster continuous improvement and increased efficiency in the clinical evaluation process.  These activities are achieved in a cross functional team environment where participants must work in a collaborative manner on project teams.

Demonstrated hands-on experience with flow tube reactor set up, troubleshooting and kinetics determination using flow tube reactor (turbulent flow a plus). Experience with computational chemistry. Atmospheric aerosol analysis and characterization a plus. Ability to effectively communicate and interact with technical staff at all levels, including direct support of Client operations in a team-based environment.
